The Afghan Loya Jirga closed on July 2 and passed a resolution calling on the international community to recognize the interim government established by the Taliban.
The resolution said that Afghanistan hopes to respect each other with all countries in the world, including its neighbors, and stressed that Afghanistan will not be used against any country, but Afghanistan will not allow anyone to interfere in its internal affairs.
The resolution also characterized members of the extremist organization "Islamic state" as "terrorists" and expressed support for the Afghan interim government's crackdown on opium poppy cultivation and drug smuggling.
The Loya Jirga Conference is a traditional deliberative assembly in Afghanistan, which mainly carries out consultations on major issues. It is the highest expression of the will of the Afghan people and is responsible for formulating and amending the Constitution and approving other relevant national laws.
