According to CCTV news, according to incomplete survey, there has been at least 10 attacks by Allied Democratic Forces(ADF),CONDECO and FPIC in east area of the Democratic Republic of Congo, caused around hundred people death.
In the early morning of November 21, a mining company in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa was attacked by unidentified armed group, and five Chinese citizens were kidnapped. On the 23rd, Chinese ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo revealed in an interview that the five kidnapped Chinese citizens were employed in a private in mining enterprise owned by a Chinese Americans. According to the embassy, the five people are temporarily safe and their mental and psychological conditions are relatively stable.
On November 30th, two International Committee of Red Cross(ICRC) humanitarian workers were even kidnapped near Virunga Park in North Kivu province. The army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo government and the Ugandan army has launched a joint military strike and suppression against the anti-government "Alliance for democracy" (ADF) in North Kivu province in eastern Congo since November 30th .
At present, There are about 21,000 Chinese and overseas Chinese in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Most of them are in Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Koluwezi and Matadi. The kidnapping happened in northeast of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where with abundant gold mines. There are stationed anti-government militants. Compared with the southeast cities with better economic development, there are more kidnapping, robbery and other events in the northeast.
